Ceramics in Tuscany has a long tradition, suffice it to say that it has been passed down since Etruscan times and it is still an integral part of the local culture. Also in Mugello the testimonies of pottery dating from the late 15th century, with the Medici family that established a factory with adjoining shop near their beautiful Mansion at Cafaggiolo now universal patrimony of Unesco. Some centuries later another important fact: the Chini art factory in Borgo San Lorenzo, with the production of ceramics and stained glass. Galileo Chini became one of the leading exponents of the art nouveau style in Italy. In Borgo San Lorenzo there is an entire Museum devoted to Chini ceramics.
Today we are fortunate to be able to offer you a pottery class with a descendant of the Chini family: Benedetta Manfriani, artist at 360°.
In the heart of Mugello, at the home of the artist you will have the opportunity to learn the main techniques related to ceramics, trying to create objects and decorate them with various techniques.
At the end of the course you will take home a unique souvenir, personalized according to your taste and your creativity, as a reminder of a holiday in a unique place, full of history, tradition and culture.
