Easy trail, beautiful view from the summit in peaceful, scenic solitude.
When we leave Montecuccoli (593 m.a.s.l.), we continue for roughly 700-800 m along the road that leads to Barberino di Mugello.
Near the Crocetta Pass (674 m.a.s.l.) we take trail n. 20 which climbs left to Poggio delle Prata (695 m.a.s.l.) and then reach La Dogana (633 m.a.s.l.) and Poggio Cupola (674 m.a.s.l.).
Along the way we pass the Soda estate (666 m.a.s.l.), a splendid structure surrounded by a park with fountains and pools (move west along the fence), past trail n. 60 which dips down to Vernio, continuing on trail n. 20 until we pass, a little to the west, the Torricella Pass (662 m.a.s.l.) and Stancalasino Pass (907 m.a.s.l.).
We move down along the provincial road Montepiano - Barberino, roughly at km 9, and crossing it, find the same narrow trail on the opposite side which later becomes a wide forestry road that climbs steeply north and meets trail n.00 RET, midway (840 m.a.s.l.) between the Crocetta Pass and Poggio ai Prati where we find an abandoned farmhouse.
Passing through beech woods and a beautiful panorama, we pass Poggio Giogaia (977 m.a.s.l.) and reach “Quattro Vie” (950 m.a.s.l.).
We move on along 00, reach the abandoned farmhouses at Rifiletti (886 m.a.s.l.), passing slightly south of the Citerna Pass (760 m.a.s.l.), where we finally meet the road Passo Futa – Bruscoli.
To the right we find Ring n.12, which follows part of trail n. 52 to S. Lucia, and leads to the Monte di Fò Campsite.
