The working of wood is widespread in Mugello.
The mountain territory, in fact, offers different types of wood, such as chestnut, walnut, and cherry-wood, which is often used for door, windows and furniture.
This tradition lives on in the art of restoring household furniture that was once a part of ancient Tuscan farm life: tables, benches, hope-chests, chest of drawers, cupboards and wardrobes that date back to the 18th and 19th century.
These are often in walnut, or softwood with a light shiny coating, or even very antique furniture with dark coating.
