In the centre of Florence there is a road that is dedicated to the commerce of spices called: “Via degli Speziali”. This trade has developed over the centuries to become a typical Florentine peculiarity and tradition. “Via degli Speziali” still exists, and in this very road in 1880 the “Drogheria e Alimentari” was founded with the opening of the “Bottega delle Spezie”. A founded knowledge of the most important producers in the world, the selection of spices and herbs from the plant origin, the sanification and the accurate lab analysis guarantee excellent quality products. The company has now founded a factory in San Piero a Sieve. It is one of the biggest and most well-equipped in Europe. Spices, aromatic herbs, seeds, enhancers and special salts, teas, cereals, legumes, soya, sauces, aromas and cake decorations, dried fruit and candied fruit etc. are all produced here.
