Presentation of the exhibition of Palazzo Strozzi at the Municipal Library
On the occasion of the exhibition Donatello, the Renaissance set up in the premises of Palazzo Strozzi and the Bargello Museum until July 31, the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipal Library, organizes Saturday, May 7 at 17:00 a presentation dedicated to the great master, supreme sculptor of the fifteenth century, who kicked off the extraordinary season of the Renaissance by proposing new ideas and figurative solutions that have forever marked the history of Western art
A historical and unrepeatable exhibition that aims to reconstruct the extraordinary path of one of the most important and influential masters of Italian art of all time, compared with masterpieces by artists such as Brunelleschi, Masaccio, Andrea Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Raffaello and Michelangelo. Curated by Francesco Caglioti, full professor of History of Medieval Art at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, the exhibition houses over 130 works including sculptures, paintings and drawings with unique loans, some of which never granted before, from almost sixty of the most important museums and institutions in the world.
The presentation at the Municipal Library will be curated by Martino Margheri of the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation.
